This life-size needle felted whitetail fawn is built over a wire armature and has a solid wool core. The top coat fibers used to create the fur include corriedale, silk, merino, cotswol, and silk velvet. The top coat was applied using a shingle technique where hundreds of small tufts of fiber were applied in a layered array and sculpted with scissors, felting needles, and razors. The hooves are oven-dried clay and painted. The eyes are wool with hints of iridescent fiber. The lashes are horsehair. The sculpture measures 24 inches long from tail to ear tip and 12 inches tall at the ear tips.
This is not a toy. Keep out of reach of young children and pets. Avoid display in direct sunlight.
