This cozy rabbit, a rare anthropomorphic piece, rests comfortably, warmed by the fire, a steaming coffee, and a hand-knit wool blanket.
The needle felted lounging rabbit is built over a wire armature and has a solid wool core. The top coat is a custom blend of fibers including alpaca, corriedale, and polworth, and mohair. The eyes are wool with a hint of iridescent fiber and mohair lashes. The whiskers are horsehair. The Adirondack chair was made from a pvc model kit and painted a matte soft, light blue. The blanket is hand-knit with a soft merino/yak yarn imported from Italy. The blanket and rabbit are discreetly and permanently secured to the chair. Even the folded draping of the blanket is secured with hidden stitches to preserve the integrity of the piece. The coffee mug is hand-molded and carved using oven cured clay and painted a pearlescent white. Inside the mug is coffee made from brown wool and accented with steam of mohair fiber. The campfire stones are molded and painted oven cured clay; glowing embers of made of glass beads; and wool and iridescent fiber make the flames and ashes. The bottom of the campfire is supported by tan leather. The chair measures 6.5 inches wide at the arm rests and 7 inches deep. 8 inches tall at the ear tips. Signed on the chair underside.
