This realistic life-size deer felted white tail deer is built over a wire armature and has a solid wool core. The hooves are wire wrapped with wool and finished with beeswax. The eyes are wool. The eyelashes are silk and alpaca. The top coat, or fur, is a custom blend of fibers that were applied in small layered tufts over every area (underside, legs, ears, etc), then trimmed with scissors and sculpted with felted needles. This meticulous process results in a natural fur-like appearance. Approximately eighty-ninety hours were required to complete this piece.
The fawn measures 17” long and 10” tall at the ear tips.
This is not a toy. Keep out of reach of young children and pets. Avoid display in direct sunlight. Avoid unnecessary handles to preserve the integrity of the fibers.
