A curious cottontail under a rose shrub reaches out to touch a passing butterfly.
This sweet diorama features a needle felted cottontail bunny and pâper-maché butterfly. The scene is set in a c1900 Walter Baker Co. (Dorcester, MA) wooden chocolate box. The background is a painted and decoupaged with a John Derian rose print. The bottom is custom made felt accented with a border of embroidery stitches. The butterfly is discretely suspended from behind. The bunny has a wire armature, solid wool core, and a custom blended wool pelt. The eyes are wool and whiskers are horsehair. Each piece is permanently secured into place. The box measures 9.25 × 6.25 × 3.75 inches. Signed.
