This needle felted cottontail bunny rests snuggly in a graceful mid century alabaster marble bon bon dish purchased from a local antiques shop. The bunny has a solid wool core. The top coat, or fur, is a custom blend of fiber including merino, yak, silk, Gotland, and corriedale applied to the core in a layered array of hundreds of tiny tufts then sculpted with scissors, razors, and felting needles. This technique results in a natural looking fur. The eyes are wool and whiskers are horsehair. The dish measures 7 inches wide and 4 inches deep. The height of the dish and bunny is 6 inches at the ear tips. The bunny is permanently secured to the dish.Signed on the underside.
