Stratton Bear with Windsor Chair
Stratton Bear with Windsor Chair
Stratton is a needle felted black bear named after the Vermont town where Heather created him. This bear was made while on a solo retreat over the course of several days.
Stratton was built over a wire armature and has a solid wool core. The top coat, or fur, is a custom blend of silk, alpaca, merino, Corriedale, Romney, and camel. The fibers were applied in small quantities in a shingle pattern and sculpted back and shaped with scissors and felting needles. The claws are wire wrapped with Gotland wool, and finished with beeswax. Foot pad details exist in all four feet although only visible as posed on the left foot. The eyes and nose are wool.
Included with the bear is the vintage wood doll’s Windsor chair was purchased at The Barn At Todd Farm, an antiques/vintage/home decor shop in Rowley, Massachusetts.
The chair is 15 inches tall and 6 inches deep.
The bear is 12 inches long and 5.75 inches wide.
