This needle felted eastern cotton tail was inspired by those adorable bunnies with voracious appetites that spring from the garden startled by the approaching gardener.

The narrow copper wire base of this piece makes it versatile for display. It can stand alone or appear to be leaping over a favorite book, flower vase, or collection of natural elements. It’s a perfect accent for a variety of decorative tastes. The needle felted cottontail is built over a wire armature from a custom blend of fibers including corriedale, merino, alpaca, silk, and angora. The fibers were applied with a shingle technique and trimmed back—giving it the appearance of realistic, natural fur. The eyes are also wool and whiskers are horsehair. Measures 8 inches tall (including base) and 8 inches long from the tips of the front to back feet.
