This needle felted Irish wolfhound measures 10 inches long and 7 inches tall. It is built over a wire armature. Fibers include Gotland, merino, and silk. The fibers were applied using a shingle technique (small tufts applied in offset rows) and trimmed to sculpt with scissors. The loose fibers to capture the dramatic and wild look of the breed’s coat. Fine details include wool eyes, an open mouth with a hints of teeth, tongue, and paw pads—all made from wool. Wire nails complete the details.
