This needle felted barn owl peers curiously from a vintage clock face casing.

Originally found in a vintage store in Somerville, Massachusetts (Metamorphosis Vintage) , the painted solid resin or composite base (inclusive of the two books) was once a battery operated clock. Heather removed the clock mechanism and added the needle felted barn owl in its place. The two books and clock are one solid piece. The needle felted barn owl has a solid wool core and custom blend of mohair, polworth, and corriedale fibers. The eyes are wool. The overall piece measures 9 inches wide and 6.5 inches tall (from book base bottom to clock case top).
